Welcome to Willow Tree Therapy: A Space for Growth and Healing

Hello and welcome - I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.


My name is Dan, and I’m the founder of Willow Tree Therapy, a holistic practice rooted in compassion, curiosity, and connection. This blog is an extension of the safe, nurturing space I offer in my therapy sessions - a place where you can explore, reflect, and perhaps find words or insights that support your own journey of healing.


Why Willow Tree?

The willow tree has long been a symbol of resilience - its branches bend but rarely break, even in the strongest winds. That image resonates deeply with the work I do. Life challenges us in unexpected ways. Sometimes it feels like we might snap under the weight of grief, trauma, anxiety, or emotional exhaustion. But like the willow, we can learn to bend with life’s storms - and still grow stronger at the roots.

My work draws from a range of therapeutic approaches - counselling, psychoanalysis and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) - always adapted to meet you where you are. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I believe in humans, stories, and healing that happens in safe spaces, at a natural pace.

No matter where you are in your life right now - whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, hopeful, grieving, or just curious - you are welcome here. Healing isn't linear. Sometimes it's messy, slow, or even invisible. But you don't have to do it alone.
