Breaking Patterns, Building Spaces: My NLP Journey & the Launch of “Men’s Stuff”

This past week has been one of deep reflection and growth - personally, professionally, and in how I support the people who come to me for help. I’ve been diving back into some of the core techniques of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and it’s reminded me just how powerful this work really is.
I’m also on the cusp of receiving another diploma in NLP from the School of Natural Health Sciences - a continous learning journey and milestone that marks not just a qualification, but a shift in how I see and work with the mind. NLP offers practical, accessible tools that allow us to gently challenge the stories we tell ourselves, reframe limiting beliefs, and build a stronger sense of self.
One of the biggest takeaways from my recent studies has been just how much language and thought shape our emotional landscape. I’ve been working more intentionally with techniques like reframing, anchoring, and the Meta Model - and watching clients move from confusion to clarity has been nothing short of moving. NLP doesn’t offer band-aids - it offers insight. It gives people back the pen so they can rewrite their internal narratives with more strength and compassion.
For me, this isn’t just theory. It’s alive in the therapy room. I’ve had sessions recently where a client moved from “I don’t know what’s wrong with me” to “I’ve been carrying more than I realised - and now I see it.” That shift, however small, can be the beginning of something huge.
Launching “Men’s Stuff” – Because Men Need Space Too
And that brings me to something I’m genuinely proud to share…
This month, I’m co-launching a new monthly meet-up called Men’s Stuff, alongside my good friend and all-around good soul, Craig (Craze the Jack (you’ll find him on Instagram at @crazethejack))
Men’s Stuff is a simple concept with a powerful purpose: to create a safe space where men can talk - really talk. About life, pressure, relationships, mental health, identity, fatherhood, or just whatever’s on their chest. No masks, no judgment - just honest connection.
Too often, men are told to “man up” or stay silent about what hurts. We want to flip that script. Men’s Stuff isn’t therapy - but it is therapeutic. It’s a community, a conversation, and a much-needed container for truth-telling.
Whether you’re carrying something heavy or just need a place to breathe and be heard, you’re welcome. You don’t have to explain yourself or perform strength. Just show up as you are.
This week has reminded me why I do this work. Why NLP matters. Why spaces like Men’s Stuff are long overdue. And why we need more room in this world for honesty, healing, and hope.
Thanks for being part of this journey.
With strength,
Dan
